If you are in emotional need and looking for a safe confidential space to explore your psychological difficulties, our diverse team of volunteer therapists are equipped to support you.
Our Psychotherapy and Counselling service offers a range of therapeutic interventions tailored to meet your needs, including humanistic, psychodynamic, existential approaches and art therapy.
Our volunteers are experienced trainees, or qualified therapists who work within the ethical framework of the organisation of which they are a member, such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
In situations where psychotherapy may not be the best option initially, short-term CBT or trauma-focused interventions may be recommended as a first course of treatment.
All therapy sessions are offered in person and are scheduled on the following days and times:
Tuesday: 10am-6pm
Wednesday: 10am-9pm – limited places
Thursday: 10am-7pm
There is a charge for the initial assessment session and any ongoing therapy sessions. We operate on a sliding scale and offer two possible fees depending on income:
1. £40/session: people on an annual income above £25k. Evening sessions between 6pm-8pm are charged at this rate.
2. £25/session: people with an annual income between £15k and £25k.
If you are looking for free counselling, you may find this alternative low cost directory helpful: Free Psychotherapy Network.
Our individual therapy service offers up to 20 sessions.
Please email [email protected] to refer yourself (the self-referral button above is for other Richmond Mind services that are free of charge). On receipt of your email, we will send you a link to a short pre-assessment form for you to complete.
